Ready to rid yourself of the mom guilt and overwhelm…?
Meet Gily Roselle, LMFT, Perinatal Therapist in Norwalk & Online Across Connecticut
Hi, Im Gily Roselle!
I specialize in working with overwhelmed mothers who are struggling with the demands of motherhood to stop feeling guilty when they find motherhood hard and begin to feel more joy and calmness.
You’ve always wanted to be a mom ...you just didn't think to feel this way….
In our first appointment I will ask you about the challenges that have brought you to see me and and go over what you can expect in our work together. My priority is to begin building your trust. I believe trust is a very important component for therapy to work. I provide you with a safe and judgment-free space to share your deepest feelings and thoughts. Most likely you have already shared these feelings with family and friends and their responses left you feeling worse. I will hold space for you and rest assured my responses will not be a repeat of others’.
Working with me you will learn tangible skills and gain new perspectives into your challenges. I am direct in a way that does not feel abrasive and nurturing in a way that does not feel passive.
I want to empower you and help you overcome the problems that have brought you here.
I need you to know that seeking help is not a reflection of who you are as a parent, it’s a reflection of how much you love your children.
Whether it be challenges with low moods, irritability, feelings of shame and guilt, or finding motherhood not at all what you expected, I can help you.
If you feel we’re already a good fit, you can contact me today to set up your first appointment.
-With the heart of a mom and the training of a psychotherapist, I can support your motherhood journey-
As a mother myself I can relate to your feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm and doubting if you are doing it right. It’s hard to believe you are when you see countless information on the do’s and don'ts of parenting yet feel compelled to be the ‘perfect’ parent. You try really hard to be the best you can be yet still find this season of your life a challenge.
You’ve listened to parenting podcasts and read the self help books, yet you still feel the same. Sometimes books and podcasts are just not enough….you need someone to listen to you and help you navigate the hard stuff. It’s not you… parenthood is just that hard.
I support mothers and parents like yourself who feel trapped in a cycle of overthinking and overwhelm.
Through my own lived-in experiences with postpartum and my training and expertise in maternal mental health, I see and hear you. Working with me you can expect to feel understood and taken seriously. I provide a warm and nurturing space where you can feel safe enough to share what you’ve been holding back. Here, you don’t have to worry about feeling ashamed or worry about being judged for how you feel.
Your feelings are not a reflection of you- working with me I can assure you are safe to share these feelings out loud.
I will listen yet provide you with feedback and tangible tools to help you feel immediate relief.
Clients describe me as kind, welcoming, and patient. I’ve been told by clients I help them see things in a different way that they did not realize before; whether its new insight, deep understanding about themselves or realize they are not alone in how they feel.
My ‘Why’
I struggled with my transition into motherhood with my first born. It was not until my son was 8 months that I learned I was dealing with Postpartum Anxiety and Depression.
Eight months is far too long for any mother to suffer in silence..and I don’t want that for you.
Thankfully I got the help I needed and made it a pledge to help other mothers in my same position. I transitioned my work to focus primarily on perinatal families, couples and postpartum women. I have a strong background in child and family therapy, allowing me to work with mothers in some capacity during my early career days.
If you’d like to work together and to see if we’re are a good fit, you can schedule a free 15 minute consultation with me.

What Mothers Today Struggle With
-
Burn out
Mothers are reporting higher levels of burn out with the societal pressures of doing it all. Taking care of housework, raising young children, having a job outside the home, and expected to do it all without any complaints.
-
'Super Mom' Facade
Now with the influx of social media ‘mommy’ accounts, more mothers feel the pressure of having to be the Perfect Mother; having to look put together at all times, being shamed for allowing screen time in their home, pressure to keep children entertained at all times, and creating aesthetically pleasing school lunches with heart shaped sandwiches. These messages are making mothers feel shame and guilt.
-
Feeling Guilt & Shame
Mothers are reporting more shame and guilt for finding motherhood challenging. Society pressures mothers to stay quiet about their struggles in motherhood. Mothers that express frustration in motherhood are shamed. The reality is that you can love your child to the fullest and find motherhood hard, both statements carry truth.
-
Anger and Rage
Mothers are reporting feelings of anger, frustration and rage in motherhood. Mothers are struggling to have more patience with their children and partners due to the demands of balancing family and work life. This is even more true for mothers that stay at home and feel a lack of balance in their lives.
You’re in the right place if you feel…
Mother hood is challenging and you struggle to find joy in it
Don’t feel like yourself and feel ‘lost’ in motherhood
You want to feel more present with your children and yell less
You need an outlet to talk about your struggles without feeling judged nor criticized
If I just described what you are feeling, we could be a good fit.
