Online Therapy for Connecticut Parents
Cute as a button but difficult to parent- guiding Parents through Toddlerhood…
You love your little babe but ‘parenting’ not so much…
It’s no secret, parenting a toddler can be HARD work. Is your toddler…
Having big emotions and constant tantrums
Are you worried something may be wrong with your toddler because they seem ‘moody’ all the time
Are you finding yourself feeling incredibly tired and exhausted
Support for you can be incredibly helpful to navigate the challenges with your toddler. We teach you the skills to practice at home so you can feel more in control. Many parents like yourself find toddlerhood stressful and frustrating.
Most likely you have already tried therapy for your child and you did not see the changes you had hoped for. Or maybe you have read all the parenting books and blogs, yet felt more frustrated and confused than before. Here’s why - parenting is not a one-size fits all. It’s a unique and special dynamic between you and your child that requires tailored attention for deep exploration. Supporting you in a one-to-one setting can help achieve this.
Stress from parenting may be interfering with your happiness, your connection with your child or creating conflict at home with your partner….but it does not have to remain this way.
As modern day therapists, we believe it can be more effective to teach you the tools to support your child at home than expecting your child to learn them independently.
Children learn best from the people they are the closest to….You.
How do we Support Parents?
Therapy for Parents is tailored to meet with your therapist one-on-one to provide education and teach you specific strategies to use at home to help you and your child become more connected. In our first appointment we discuss the challenges you are experiencing with parenting so we can identify where to begin and build a journey toward relief. You want so badly to feel better and we want that for you too.
Together we will explore the specific areas of parenting you find the most challenging and why. Sometimes you may not know why and that’s ok- together we will take a deep dive in learning about your triggers- also known as, things that get under your skin! We will talk about the current parenting techniques you find the most effective to remind you that you are doing something right.
It’s not uncommon for us to explore your past childhood and how you were parented. This information can sometimes provide fruitful insight into why we are feeling ‘stuck’ in the world of parenting. After all, our caregivers were the first ones to provide a blueprint for parenting….
We can also support you if your child is an HSC (Highly Sensitive Child) or has neurodivergent traits. Raising HSC children or neurodivergent can feel challenging because traditional parenting techniques don’t work as well with this population of children. And because our practice is well versed in child development and topics of neurodivergence and HSC, we are equipped to support you.

We want to help you stay connected with your child. This is why our approach to therapy is rooted in attachment theory, meaning we want parents to learn how to stay calm and present with their children even through the toughest moments.
Our approach in Supporting You is…
Respecting your beliefs and values about parenting, we will never tell you how to parent your child
Taking the time to get to know the kind of parent you want to be. This helps guide our session topics and focus.
Holding you accountable in practicing learned skills. We are known to give you small bite size homework assignments to practice at home with your kids.

From years of working with families and children we have come to learn that children respond better if their parents are supported 1-1. Why is that? Children are attached to YOU, therefore they will be more receptive to YOU compared to someone they just met.
In this work we guide you step by step in how you will be addressing your child’s unwanted behaviors in a way that takes into account the kind of relationship you have with your child, their age, and temperament. At the end of the day you know your child best, we are simply here to fine tune and adjust things that no longer serve you.
